Gifts are being presented in order to show their affection and love. Mothers play a very important role in bringing their child up. In turn the child wants to contribute the affection by giving gift to their mothers on occasion of mother’s day.

Generally the gifts can be chosen by shopping around or by shopping online. The most effective way to buy is to do the online shopping. Online shopping is done because more gifts can be found online. National Retail Federation (NRF) has published, before mother’s day that 20% of all consumers will buy Mother’s day gifts online.

Jewelry Price Inflation in April 2009

Inflation at the jewelry retail and supplier end for the month of April 2009, as indicated as a percentage variation year-over-year (April 2009 versus April 2008) in the U.S. market is:

  • Jewelry Producer Price Index +0.8 percent
    • Platinum & Gold utilized in Jewelry +0.7 percent
    • Other valuable Metals utilized in Jewelry +4.0 percent
  • Jewelry & Watch Consumer Price Index +2.5 percent
    • Jewelry CPI +2.6 percent
    • Watch CPI +1.5 percent

The Bureau of Labor Statistics created a new sub-category for Jewelry Producer Price Index called “Other Precious Metals Used in Jewelry.” Earlier, these metals were incorporated in the “Platinum & Gold” category. “Jewelry made of silver; jewelry made of other metals, but clad or plated in gold, silver, or platinum; jewelry made of precious or semi-precious stones; and other miscellaneous jewelry products made from precious metals like cuff links (one of a pair of linked ornamental buttons or button like devices for fastening a shirt cuff) and money clips.” April’s inflation rate recorded 4.0 percent for this “other” precious metals category which suggests that there may be a sampling deviation that should be corrected, since there has been no corresponding increase in commodity prices to explain this type of producer price inflation.

At the retail end, inflation continues to decline, as forcasted, mainly because the anniversary date is approaching last year’s price increases which jewelers started in the second quarter of 2008. Comparisons in the initial few months of 2009 with the same period in 2008 will convey “old pricing” in 2008 versus “new higher prices” in 2009. In consecutive months in 2009, retail prices will be analyzed with the higher prices which were executed in the second quarter of 2008. As there was no material retail price hikes since mid-2008, inflation at the retail level in the U.S. market must remain unaffected. Merchants are cautious before they will execute new higher prices which might discourage their loyal customers.

Tips to Select Gifts for Senior Citizens

Buying gifts for senior citizens can be a little difficult at times because what you give something that you think they would enjoy, and you find out that their tastes are not anywhere near yours. Majority of the seniors in US are depends on month to month on a fixed income, and have medical expenses that eat away at their money, buying the necessary things can be a hardship for them. So whenever you are going to give the gift to them think actually what they want and try to do some help to them. If they have the pet, then try to bring some pet food for their pet. It seems that they really enjoy the spirit in which these gifts are given. It is meant to be fun, and not that you don’t think they can afford it.

Blankets and throws, as well as cozy pajamas are favorites of the seniors, definitely they will enjoy saying back in their recliners covered with their favorite blankets, watching TV or listening to their radio at night before they retire for bed. Electronics like computers, laptops are not good for them because they are not proficient with them if they are familiar with this type of electronic goods then no problem to give this electronics. Most of the seniors love getting family photos in frames for gifts. Many times a photo will jog their memory and help them to remember certain events. So try to give the photo frames. Lastly I think everybody loves to get gifts, even when those gifts are not traditional gifts, but necessities. They love to open them, and it makes them feel special that you thought of them.

Is online shopping convenient

Is online shopping convenient? If any body questions me, my answer would obviously be yes. Because as an employee now a days I don’t find time for shopping, but shopping has to be done anyhow so I opted for online shopping. It is the best alternative for shopping in malls. You can purchase any products through online.

I have childhood friend who is staying far from our place, it had been long time we met each other. It was her birthday on December and I could not be able to reach her because of my busy schedule. So I ordered a nice wristwatch before a day through online and surprised on her birthday. These gifts are fast, easy and sure to please anyone on your last minute.

The main advantage you can get from online shopping is time: you can save your valuable and precious time from going to shopping malls. And one thing you need to have for online shopping is a computer with Internet connection and a credit card for payment. The delivery of the product is quick and the quality is also good.

Shopping online is very easy and you can make it best and reliable by keeping certain things in mind like giving the proper order, being clear about the product and its features you want to purchase, quality of the product, price comparisons, guarantees etc., and enjoy online shopping convenience.
