Legendary Singer Joan Baez Is In Celebratory Mood

Comments Off

Every one of us will be happy if we achieve anything good and if anyone who is celebrating 50 years of successful career as singer then how it is for her. I am talking about legendary singer, Joan Baez and her happiness in successful completion of 50 years in show business when she is 67.

She raised to fame during folk movement in 1950’s and 1960’s with a new album “Day After Tomorrow.” At the age 20, she wanted to go for politics but thought her voice may not sheer the power. She was passionately expressed her support for Barack Obama during his presidential campaign and praised Obama as an Orator like a King.

She felt that the country is now politically charged and while answer to a question ‘will Obama can change America’ she said Obama has already changed the America with his victory. She expressed her thoughts about politics as country is politically charged and she loves Obama. She was unhappy with her career in 20’s and 30’s and now she sings just for joy.

The Seven Wonders of the World

Comments Off

So we have our new seven wonders of the world. They say that they selected them with our opinion. We choose them through global poll. It was very successful campaign, I must say, because bringing the entire world together on a single issue is not an ordinary task. I wish someday it may happen to all those world threats like poverty, global warming, saving water, etc.

There were as many as 200 wonders off the world in the poll. Then why only 7; did any body know? We may be aware of the Greek culture, from which we are still deriving many things even today. Well even the seven number was also extracted from their belief that 7 is the number of perfection and plenity.

Herodotus of 425 BC was said to be the first man to list seven wonders of the ancient world. But of them only the Great Pyramid of Giza is existing today.

The seven wonders of the world are

  • Great wall of China of China
  • Taj Mahal of India
  • Petra of Jordan
  • Colosseum of Italy
  • Christ the Redeemer of Brazil
  • Chicken Itza of Mexico
  • Machu Picchu of Peru

Is online shopping convenient

Comments Off

Is online shopping convenient? If any body questions me, my answer would obviously be yes. Because as an employee now a days I don’t find time for shopping, but shopping has to be done anyhow so I opted for online shopping. It is the best alternative for shopping in malls. You can purchase any products through online.

I have childhood friend who is staying far from our place, it had been long time we met each other. It was her birthday on December and I could not be able to reach her because of my busy schedule. So I ordered a nice wristwatch before a day through online and surprised on her birthday. These gifts are fast, easy and sure to please anyone on your last minute.

The main advantage you can get from online shopping is time: you can save your valuable and precious time from going to shopping malls. And one thing you need to have for online shopping is a computer with Internet connection and a credit card for payment. The delivery of the product is quick and the quality is also good.

Shopping online is very easy and you can make it best and reliable by keeping certain things in mind like giving the proper order, being clear about the product and its features you want to purchase, quality of the product, price comparisons, guarantees etc., and enjoy online shopping convenience.

Must-Have Features For a Web Browsing Phone

Comments Off

What do you need to look for in a mobile phone handset to browse the Web effectively? The must-have features of your Web browsing phone.

QWERTY Keyboard – Don’t care what if somebody says something, you can’t browse the Web effectively without a QWERTY keyboard. Sure, you can type in small URLs using a touch screen, but try entering large chunks of text, like you need to when blogging, filling in online forms, or using Web 2.0 sites effectively, and suddenly the process becomes too painful to be of any use.

Fast network connection – If you’re going to browse the Web, you need a fast network connection. Anything above 512Mbps. anything less and you’ll go back to the dark days of dial-up modems, where you’d have a cup of tea waiting for a Web page to load.

If you’re processor is underpowered, you’ll have to out up with slow rendering of your Web pages. Using the mobile Web is all about speed. You need to access the content you want to see extremely quickly, as you’ll generally need it when you’re out and about, and waiting for a page to download while you’re searching for a book review.

Finally, one of the absolute essentials if you’re going to use the mobile Web is a flat rate data package from your mobile network operator that offers you unrestricted access to the Web for a fixed monthly fee with no download limits.

Which Camera Phone You Buy This Christmas?

Comments Off

Christmas is fast approaching, so it’s time to do a few recommendations to help those of you looking to buy a mobile phone for someone as the perfect Christmas present.

The first recommendation is in the camera phone category. Camera phones have been released by the bucket load this year, with 5 mega pixels now the norm for the top-end phones. These phones now come with picture quality so good, they’re actually on a par with digital cameras from just a few years ago.
Read on to see which camera phone should you buy for Christmas?
The main contenders are the:

  • Nokia N95 – Great camera, fantastic phone, with more features than you’ll know what to do with. But this review’s based on the quality of the camera, and the N95’s is marginally poorer than the G800 and K850i’s.
  • Sony Ericsson K850i – The benchmark in terms of image quality. Just a shame about its relatively sparse feature-list.
  • Samsung G800 – Pictures as good as the K850i, but with HSDPA and optical zoom. The clear winner.
  • Samsung G600 – Still a great camera phone compared to others, but not compared to the line up here. Super-slim, though, and extremely fashionable.
  • LG Viewty – Image quality good, but not as good as the top 3, but a great touch screen and the best in class video recorder.
  • Sony Ericsson K850i – The benchmark in terms of image quality. Just a shame about its relatively sparse feature-list.

Each of these offers 5 mega pixels, auto focus and a plethora of neat camera tricks – in other words, their high quality camera phones that’ll produce great looking pictures.

Summer Vacation Plans

Comments Off
During the winter depression, we all tend to hibernate a little bit. But now is the perfect time to start thinking about your next summer vacation. Let me share some tips that are going to give you the guide you to start planning ahead.

If you’re like most people, the first place you’ll turn to book your summer vacation will be the online agencies. But airlines and hotels are now starting to sell themselves on the Internet. Using Getaways, for example, customers will be able to go to Las Vegas and stay at a casino for a discounted rate. And these days you can book your flight car and hotel through Marriott. But keep in mind you still have to compare price. If you book through an airline, you’ll have to use that carrier, and if you book through a hotel, you’ll only have the option of staying on their properties. So make sure that your savings will make up for your lack of choice.

Airfares may increase every summer. And if you don’t book your vacation at least two months in advance, you may be paying double for that ticket. Hotel rates may also rise as usual, so you may want to consider a vacation rental if you’re staying more than two or three days. In a vacation rental, you can get an entire house. Make sure you ask about a discount if you’re staying more than seven nights. If it’s in the high season for that area, you can probably get a 5 to 10 percent discount. If you’re in the low season, you may be able to get 15 to 20 percent off your price. You may be able to barter your talents for a discount too.
