Scott Tourism Business Declines By 30%

Around 250 tourism firms and around 800 buyers attend the VisitScotland expo trade fair in Glasgow. It has been a crucial one amid the gloomy times of the tourism industry all over the world. Even the Scotland has seen an unpleasant drop of 30 percent in the corporate tourism business. The proportion of tourists from overseas has dropped by 10 percent. Despite of all the dire statistics, the chief executive of VisitScotland still says that the tourism of Scotland is confident and bullish. They say that their advance booking is up by 7 percent compared to the same period last year.

Americans, who are the major part of overseas visitors to Scotland, have grown reluctant these days towards travel. The reason, obviously being the recession, I am sure they will have to wait until the good times return.

The VisitScotland is doing well with around 800 buyers, including some from nations like Iran, Serbia, Pakistan, and Turkey, which are attending for the first time.
